RE
This half term, we are learning about some of the most important prophets in Islam. Prophets are found in many religions and are people (in Islam, all men) who teach and spread the word of God. They are God's special messengers, who speak to people on God's behalf and some prophets can also predict future events. This week, we are learning about the prophet Adam. He is a very important man and prophet, not only in Islam but also in Judaism and Christianity. The activities are on the slides and you can choose your level of challenge from these. ?

Our topic for Science this half term is light! We would like you to create a mind map of all the things you know about light.
Here are some questions to help you get started: How do we see things? What is darkness? How are shadows made? What is a reflection? Why do people wear sunglasses? What makes things light?
Do you have any questions about light or things your would like to find out?

History
Today we are going to learn about Primary and Secondary Sources. Read the article about the Romans in Walthamstow and answer the questions
1. What surprises you about the report?
2. What Roman remains were discovered? Why is this important?
Challenge - If you worked for Walthamstow council would you let Holy Family Catholic School build on top of the remains? Why/Why not?
Watch the video and sort the sources into primary and secondary sources. You can either print and cut out the sources and sort them or you can draw a table with two columns one for primary sources and one for secondary sources and write the name of the source in the correct column. Which source do you think is the odd one out? Why?
Have a look at the source about Boudicca again
Do you think it is reliable? Does it give accurate information about Boudicca?

DT
Miss Franklin has asked if we could make a Roman exhibition in our classrooms and the annexe hall. We will need to include articles of clothing so we thought in this half term’s DT sessions we could research, design and make things that the Romans would have used made out of fabric. This week we are going to be doing some research by practising our stitches! Have a look through the Powerpoint and watch the videos for a tutorial on each stitch then practice on the material in your DT pack.
