Greenleaf Primary School & Nursery

Nursery Admissions

You should apply for a nursery place when your child is 2 years old. Your child will be eligible for a free nursery place starting the term AFTER they are 3 years old*, until they enter Reception.

*If you are on a low income, your child may be eligible to take up a place slightly earlier with us, in the term they become 3 years old.  When your child is 2 years old, please check free 2 year old funding eligibility  to find out if your child qualifies. You will be allocated a code, to present to us and use to fund the earlier admission.

Hours and Funding

Greenleaf Nursery offers the standard free 15 hours places available to ALL 3 and 4 year olds, taken as either a Morning, Afternoon, or Extended Hours place, as well as up to 30 hours places, if you are eligible and we have the space. Please look up your eligibility on the Government website, from which you will be allocated a code, if you are successful.

Language Development

If you have any language or development concerns, please ensure that you seek support using one or more of the following:

  • You can request a two year check from your doctor
  • Speak to your doctor about your development concerns
  • You can access a Speech and Language check by searching the Waltham Forest Directory and entering 'speech and language drop-in' and your postcode
  • Pop along to our Friday morning Toddler Group between 9.00am and 10.45am (term time only) and speak to Caroline, the Nursery Teacher.

The Speech and Language therapy waiting list is very long so please don’t wait until your child starts nursery!
